Samsung has released a number of new Galaxy series’ lately, beginning with the Galaxy Alpha and the new A range of handsets last year, to the recently unveiled Galaxy E5 and E7. Now Samsung has announced plans for a Galaxy J series of phones, the first of which is the Galaxy J1. Samsung seems to have forgone the usual launch fanfare, but a spec sheet has appeared on Samsung’s Malaysian website.

The Galaxy J1 (SM-J100H) is a purely budget affair, featuring a 4.3-inch WVGA (480 x 800) display, 512MB of RAM, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front facing camera, and a 1,850 mAh battery. Samsung says that the device can provide up to 10 hours of talk time. The handset also comes with dual-SIM slots, but only supports 3G network connectivity.

Internal storage weighs in at just 4GB, but the phone does come with a microSD card slot for additional space. The SoC is simply listed as a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, so we don’t know the brand or make-up of the chip powering this handset. The Samsung Galaxy J1 weighs 122 grams and measures 129 x 68.2 x 8.9 mm.

Galaxy J1 has a modern sleek design which is easy-to-grip, weighs 122 grams and is 8.9 mm thin. The smartphone is equipped with a 4.3-inch WVGA PLS display providing an engaging and immersive multimedia experience to consumers. The PLS technology offers enhanced color reproduction and wider viewing angles for a vivid experience.

Galaxy J1 is powered by 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat). It has a 5-megapixel auto focus rear camera with LED flash and 2 MP front-facing camera. The camera features advanced selfie modes to provide more options and flexibility to capture favourite moments. Galaxy J1 is 3G enabled, features dual SIM support, 512MB RAM, and 4GB of internal memory.

The smartphone has a 1850 mAh removable battery and comes with Ultra Power Saving (UPS) Mode, which offers long lasting power and maximizes battery life time. Samsung's proprietary UPS Mode allows the user to use all key functionality on the device including making and receiving phone calls, messaging, and Internet browsing even when the battery is low. This is enabled by shutting off all non-essential features to conserve battery life. You can continue to enjoy Galaxy J1 in color on UPS Mode while making sure you remain connected throughout.

Competition Android phones in the lower classes responded by Samsung to release a series of cheap phones that carry the newer platform. One of the reliable mobile phone by Samsung in this line is the Galaxy Young 2. Successor to Galaxy Young, this Smartphone is equipped with the Android platform 4.4.2 KitKat complete with two SIM card slots. Still not want to move from the typical design from Galaxy series so Galaxy Young 2 carries plastic material ready to tempt consumers with an orange peel texture that feels rough in the hand. Appeared with a 3.5-inch 320 x 480 pixel resolution, Equipped with a 1 GHz processor single-core ARM Cortex-A7 (SC6815A Spreadtrum CPU) with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 32GB via SD card

Just below the screen stretch, you'll find two touch sensitive buttons. From the left you can see the recent button that replaces the menu button. The next two buttons are physical buttons home and back. To access the menu button, the user can do this by holding down the recent few moments. There are dual SIM Card, 3.1 Megapixel rear camera without LED flash and also not equipped with front cameras, Young Galaxy 2 Duos Android OS version 4.4.2 Kitkat and supported capacity 1300 mAh battery. For set the volume, you can use the button located on the left. The audio port is perched alone on top. To charge the battery, Samsung put the bottom side of the micro USB port. As for powering mobile phones, Samsung put the power button on the right side of the body.

There are cool features in this Smartphone, the rear using faux leather back cover and gets a 8 game made by Gameloft which can be downloaded for free. The specifications could be considered a super entry level, it just simply Single-processor Core.
